Pitch
This is a mini game that I made during my internship at Elseware Experience. This mini game is in the main game "Broken Pieces".
In this game you have to guide all the trains to the right train station. It's scoring game so you have to do the best score.
Goal of the game
In the game, our character plays it to beat the best score of his boyfriend.
The goal of the mini game is to bring the trains coming from the left to the right station. To do this you can move all the train lines. The player will have to anticipate where he wants to take the trains to avoid that some trains go to the wrong station or even worse, that they collide.
The player also has an emergency brake that allows to slow the game to gain some time to think. This feature is useful when there are a lot of trains to deal with at once.
If the player manages to beat the best score, he/she unlocks a laser that the character can put on his/her gun to gain precision.

What we decided to do
The purpose of this mini-game in the overall game was to offer a variation of the gameplay. Broken Pieces is an adventure and investigation thriller. The story is very gripping. This mini-game allows cutting the pace a bit and to tell a bit more about the relationship between Elise and Pierre.
The goal was to find the atmosphere of the old arcade games where the goal was to get the highest score possible. We needed a simple gameplay that allowed us to have a scoring system. As the game is set in Brittany, we kept this idea in the theme.
My role in this project
For this project, my role was to propose different concepts of games, I proposed four and it is the one of the train which was retained. I had to realise the game on my side while discussing with the leads to have their opinion. The game went through many different iterations before the final version. I did everything on the project, from the code to the graphics. The sound effects came from a sound bank, and I didn't do the music.
This internship made me realise how much I really loved game design and that it was what I wanted to do.
During my internship, I had the opportunity to do many other things. I was able to do set dressing and level design for some of the "The Edge" levels. I made some 2D elements like the autosave logo. I made a lava lamp in 3D with an animated lava shader to remind the 90s. I also did a lot of QA and a lot of other various tasks.
